If you're craving a delightful taco experience that resonates with nostalgia, look no further than Taco Lita, nestled in the vibrant town of Arcadia, California. Established in 1967, this taco haven embodies the essence of a classic mom-and-pop eatery, where every bite serves up a slice of culinary history. The restaurant’s charming atmosphere is a delightful throwback, perfectly complemented by its warm and friendly staff that makes you feel right at home.

Taco Lita specializes in delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, where the star of the show is, without a doubt, their hard shell tacos. Picture this: a perfectly crunchy shell filled to the brim with seasoned ground beef, zesty cheese, crisp lettuce, and a fresh slice of tomato. Customers rave about the Tuesday special, featuring three tacos paired with a refreshing soda for an unbeatable price that leaves your wallet happy. Don’t forget to try their famed jalapeno salsa—a hot and tangy addition that dances on your taste buds, elevating those tacos to heavenly heights.

Beyond the tacos, their combo burrito is a significant crowd-pleaser—a generous assembly of ground meat, beans, and cheese, loaded with fresh ingredients, making for a hearty meal that satisfies. The extraordinary portion sizes mean you’ll walk away feeling full and satisfied, all while relishing the quality that outshines fast-food chains like Taco Bell. As customer Jim Darrell noted, “If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular!”

The dining experience at Taco Lita is as enjoyable as the food they serve. Although some may describe it as a nostalgic trip back to their college days, it’s clear that each visit echoes with fond memories and shared meals. As R Craw fondly recalls, “This was a regular place to visit,” and the welcoming ambiance encourages casual catch-ups over plates of tacos and burritos. Just be sure to arrive slightly before or after peak hours to avoid the lunchtime rush, and you’ll find plenty of parking to boot!

In a world where food trends come and go, Taco Lita’s longstanding commitment to quality and tradition makes it a beloved staple worth multiple visits. So, whether you're a local or just passing through Arcadia, make it a point to stop by this gem of a taco restaurant. Dive into their engaging menu, indulge in the nostalgic flavors, and become part of the ever-growing community of Taco Lita fans. After all, it’s not just a meal—it’s an experience that warms the soul. Don’t forget to pick up a bean cup for good measure!

Since 1967, this place is excellent! I liked the tacos. I got the Tuesday special with 3 tacos and a soda for $9 and change. Get the jalapeno salsa! The service is fast and super friendly! If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular! Huge parking lot too!

Nostalgia is what comes to mind when entering Taco Lita. Is it authentic Mexican food no! Is it supposed to be no!. What it is a small mom and pop place that hasn't changed ever, and what they do they do well. I had the taco which was crunchy and filled with ground beef, cheese, lettuce and a slice of tomatoe. Also I had a meat and cheese burrito which was generously stuffed with ground beef and cheese, very simple but simply delicious. Worth a shot in my opinion if I even drive past Duarte I will go out of my way to stop by.

For some, I’m sure the nostalgia keeps them coming back. For me, it was the first time and it was pretty much what I expected. A mom and pop Del Taco, with higher prices but slightly better flavors. The taco is definitely the standout as it’s stuffed with meat and cheese. The combo burrito was mid. Beans, meat and cheese. Nothing really special. I guess they don’t have their taco sauce anymore, so Heinz mild is all you get. I think a really good sauce would make this place stand out more, but Del scorcho is still the best sauce in the biz, so I guess I’ll be going to Del Taco when I need my gringo taco fix. Glad I tried it and not mad that I did. Really would go back for their tacos if they only had better sauce. Service was fast and friendly, so that’s definitely a plus.

This was a regular place to visit a.d eat back in my college days over 30 years ago. I gave it another try today and was pleased with the fantastic crunch taco and even better was the combo burrito.

Tried the combo burrito and it was good! This not your traditional Mexican restaurant so don’t expect asada or carnitas. This is basically Taco Bell but much higher quality of food. I just tried the jumbo burrito and it was HuGe and well loaded with beans, ground meat and cheese. It also had a large amount of whole slice tomatoes and lettuce. Burrito was filling and delicious. Coming back next time to try the tacos.

I love this place. Hard shell takos are classic. Sad that there's no more taco Lita sauce. Another victim of the pandemic. The building is a jewel/ time capsule and that tiles work is so nice. Mid century modern Mavens will love meeting here ... Definitely worth visiting. Don't forget the bean cup

Most definitely a better Tex-Mex spot than Del Taco or Taco Bell. Relatively simple menu. Not a big fan of the Heinz taco sauce. Service was fast and friendly. I'd say Taco Lita is on par with Bakers, a small chain from the IE.

Been going here since I was with my first partner in my 20’s, long ago! It’s so renown, there’s an entire Facebook group for this place!!! Quick, great value, fresh, and straight forward, avoid peak hours may only caveat: they might be extra crowded!! I/we go out of our way to pick up from here. Living back in San Diego now, that’s not often as when I/we were living in the San Gabriel Valley…. In fact, there’s a Burrito Jumbo from our visit yesterday that’s calling my name in our fridge right now…
